Today, Microsoft released this week's Windows 11 Insider Preview, bringing the build number up to 22000.100. There isn't much new to report. Indeed, one of the key features that had been lacking – Teams integration – was made available to Insiders earlier this week. That didn't even necessitate an update. It's worth noting that Microsoft is conducting its standard A/B testing, so even though you chose the Dev channel, you might not see it.



What's new in this Windows 11 preview is mostly UX improvements. When you click the hidden icon button in the taskbar, the flyout now has rounded corners, in keeping with the rest of the Windows 11 design. Microsoft suggested that if the flyout does not appear as it should, try switching between two themes. Another notable change is that Focus Assist settings are now available in the Notifications to shut them off.



Those are most likely the most noticeable differences. There are, of course, others. When a background activity requires attention, it will be more subtle. It turns orange in Windows 10. According to Microsoft's new Windows 11 preview, it's a subtle flashing and then turns slightly red; it's meant to be more calming.

The icon for the Touch Keyboard has been changed. It's more in line with the other icons. The calendar flyout can now be collapsed, making room in the Notification Center for more notifications. Finally, Microsoft stated that it is adding new animations to the Microsoft Store; however, this is an app update, not a build-specific feature.

If you're on the Dev channel, you can download today's Windows 11 preview from Windows Update. If not, go to Settings -> Update & security -> Windows Insider Program to get started, though you must have a compatible PC.

Windows 11 previews are still expected to arrive in the Beta channel later this month. Microsoft will most likely release an ISO image for clean installations of the OS around the same time.
